The 2026 Leaf Optichrome Football Break Report
Share
This box of Optichrome was a great example of why we look past the surface level of a break. While the 1/1 is a fun pull for the "Packers PC," the real value here sits with the high-upside offensive starters and a first-round wideout who is expected to make an immediate impact.
The First-Round Talent: Makai Lemon
The clear star of this box is Makai Lemon. Having just been selected in the First Round of the 2026 NFL Draft, Lemon is the kind of high-profile receiver that collectors hunt for in the offseason. We landed his Bring the Smoke Auto /14, which is a fantastic short-print hit of a Day 1 starter. In the current market, a first-round wide receiver is one of the most liquid assets you can have.
Established Momentum: Dylan Sampson
Another strong pull is the Dylan Sampson Bring the Smoke Auto /14. Sampson isn't a "wait and see" prospect; he’s a second-year contributor for the Cleveland Browns who already proved he can handle a high-volume role during his rookie season. His market is stable and trending up as he enters the 2026 season as a key weapon in that offense.
The "One-of-a-Kind" Packer: Kyle McCord
We did find a Kyle McCord Base 1/1. While a Leaf 1/1 of a backup QB doesn't hit the same heights as the major licensed brands, it is still a unique piece of memorabilia for a Packers or college fan. It’s a great addition to the box's overall rarity, even if it’s more of a niche collector's item than a major investment piece.
Rare Color & Legend Status
The box rounded out with some incredible short-print ink and a piece of history:
- Domani Jackson (Red Shimmer Auto /4): An ultra-rare parallel of the new Packers rookie.
- Wonderful "Champ" Monds (Music Auto /10): A massive college-interest hit, as the 4-star QB just committed to Notre Dame.
- Paul Hornung (Purple Crystal Patch /7): A beautiful low-numbered relic of a Hall of Fame legend.
